- Open your long ribbon
- Change the canvas size (not the document size) so that it is square - in other words, make the height match the width
- Make the ribbon twice as tall (CTRL+T and change the H to 200%) - failure to do this step will result in an item that is half as thick as your original after you turn it into a circle
- Run the polar coordinates filter on it - filter->distort->polar coordinates; select "rectangle to polar" and hit OK
You can ALSO do this to make text in a circle. It's the same as above except:
- Make sure the text goes all the way across your canvas
- Rasterize the text after typing it in
- Rotate it 180 degrees when you change the height.
Give it a whirl!

Wow, wow, wow! I always like doing text in circles and did it a different way using the text tools in pse 5.0.
Thanks again for a wonderful tutorial!!!! Much easier than the way I was doing it.
if your ends don't meet, I think you need to make sure there is little to no extra empty space on the ends - crop it away and see if that works~
What a fun trick to know!!! Thanks for letting us in on the tip. Had to try it out immediately, love it.
Thanks for this tip - I'd done it before but more by good luck - so nice to have some proportions to work too.

Thanks for the cool tut, Christine!
It has been a pleasure to visit your blog and to read a few of your fabulous tutorials. This is just wonderful since I use PSE5. Normally, I do my circles, etc., in PSPX2, but now I can make them in PSE. I had a prior tutorial on this same subject, but it was lost when my HD crashed. I will make sure that this is backed up tonight for protection. Thanks!!
I love you! Thank you so much - that was SO much easier than anything else I've been reading to do this!!
